On Saturday 1st April, Piccolo PR hosted a stunning afternoon of ballet, diamantes and decadent desserts. A stable of celebrity mothers including Terry Biviano, Lizzy Lovette, Kate Waterhouse and Jessica Rowe were among the many to treat their daughters to a private dance lesson at the heritage space, Barre Body Sydney CBD with Australian Ballet star, Brooke Lockett.

Dressed in frothy, diamante dresses each of the girls learnt the magical steps to Nutcracker as mothers sipped on French champagne, ate delicious treats and watched their daughters move their tiny dancing feet. The afternoon was a precious time for mother and child. It was a precious afternoon that was eight months in the making and achieved international media attention.

The entrance demanded instant grandeur. A pink and yellow balloon-arch framed the ballet mirrors tiered cake stands were layered with creamy custard cakes, sticky lollypops, fluffy Pistachio and Grapefruit macron shells. It was insanely beautiful.

Some girls just got the beat, and then there were other sweeties separated themselves from the synchronized performance to work their own choreography. One divine little darling napped the whole way through (when a girl needs to nap, she needs to nap!). Rightfully so, a few other tiny dancers just wanted to stay and play with Brooke all day!).

The event was beautifully captured by Sandra Stewart who created a watermark illustration, and Terry Biviano’s angel, Azura who took a liking to the paints and finished off the canvas.

Eliza Hynde from The Grace Tales says ‘the event was hosted in a magical space with adorable budding ballerinas in sparkly tulle, twirling about with beautiful Brooke Lockett. It was a tutu fairy-tale.’

Exhausted after a big day of dance, each of the girls were gifted with an Alan-Walsh Ballerina print and twirled home.
